Crimes on the internet by using phishing tricks have occurred in the world. To be able to overcome phishing, you need to be more vigilant and careful when doing various activities on the internet. The online account address that you have, such as a bank, credit card or e-commerce account, you should know in detail. For this reason, there is an email verification service provided to ensure that the e-mail in your inbox is a secure fake email for facebook verification.
There are two main platforms that are often used by actors in carrying out phishing actions: email and websites. You need to know the general characteristics of fake emails and websites first before you really can avoid them.
1. Fake Email
Unofficial Email Address – An email sent from an email that resembles an official email to trick you.
Link to a Fake Website – Phishers want your login access to the account they want. In many cases, they include links to fake websites that resemble the official website of an institution/service and then instruct you to log in.
Threatening Emails – Phishing emails can also contain threats so that perpetrators get what they want. Perpetrators can cleverly exploit the fear of the victim to obey the instructions contained in the email. In the example above, the offender threatens to close the account immediately.
Email Attachments – If the fake e-mail you receive contains an attachment, you should never click and download the attachment. Perpetrators usually insert malware in “fake email” sent to the victim.
2. Fake Website
Fake / Unofficial URLs – Phishing creators usually create websites that look very similar to real websites. For example, if you get an email from UNICEF and are asked to fill out a form as a volunteer for their interests, you should compare the fake website with the original UNICEF website.
Unofficial SSL Certificate – The banking company’s official website usually uses a valid SSL Certificate to ensure user security. Fake websites do not have this SSL Certificate, so a display like the one above appears in the URL section. If you experience this, immediately close the related page. If you have already entered login access, immediately log in your login details and contact the relevant official assistance.
